Knowing that there are different beliefs held by different people and attempting to work together for the common good anyway, is what I think divides the left from the right, and gives the majority of those who identify themselves as either a liberal or a democrat the moral high ground in the current political arena.
And in life.
We police ourselves, and as a whole we try to the best of our ability to marginalize those in our party that take positions of extremism and replace their inflaming rhetoric with facts and reason.
All while desperately trying to combat the rhetoric and inciting tactics that the right wing has become so adept at propagating.
What ever our faults may be, I can't imagine us ever being as crazy as these barely cognizant nutjobs...
I'm speaking of course about the society of patriots, that band of brothers who have adopted the moniker of Oath Keeper, and are currently working very hard to overthrow the government of the United States.
Perhaps you've read one of the few articles that have been written.

Maybe, like me, you came across one of their ridiculous and sad videos on Youtube
The bottom line with these late to the game defenders of America is that they are a bunch of sore losers and now they plan on getting some payback.
They think that we are a socialist country now.
They believe that an officer of the law anywhere in the country is above the president of the United States and they are swearing an oath to subvert the duly elected officials of our government.
They think, like their hero just deposed, that God is working through them and that theirs is a glorious and righteous cause.
They are all batshit crazy.
Here are the ten orders they swear to not obey:

And here is the 94 page law school paper that the Oath Keeper's founder, Stewart Rhodes, wrote in 2004. It's supposed to be an award winning essay on the status of enemy combatants in the global war on terror. I think it gives a glimpse into the reasoning he seems to be exhibiting today.

I was so pissed off when I came across them via Youtube about a month ago, that I immediately started a blog in their honor.
They're all about honor, these guys.
You can view my campaign against the Oath Keepers here:

Some of the Oath Keepers are kind enough to provide me with feedback, but it's usually about where to stick what well hung men want to give me, and vaguely veiled threats to my person that are punctuated with ha ha ha's.
They really aren't much of a challenge mentally if you get my drift.
They do however, represent a very real danger to anyone not willing to drink the kool aid and swear allegiance to the junta.
Don't be led astray by my seeming levity.
I take them very seriously and I think you should too.
As my blog description reads, the Oath Keepers represent a threat to the security of our country
And that's no joke.
Peace. Love. And Bobby Sherman.
