You knew it all along, I knew it all along ... we knew that the Republicans couldn't be so completely stupid as to wreck the economy out of sheer idiocy and greed ... there had to be a master plan.
Now, courtesy of the NYTimes, the MASTER PLAN IS REVEALED!
Mexican Data Say Migration to U.S. Has Plummeted
Yes, it was all a brilliant, multi-decade, flawlessly executed scheme to solve the immigration problem!
The Republicans actually had the courage and intellectual honesty to look beyond the surface and go for the fundamental cause of our immigration crisis -- the economic appeal of the United States.
“If jobs are available, people come,” said Jeffrey S. Passel, senior demographer at the Pew Hispanic Center, a nonpartisan research group in Washington. “If jobs are not available, people don’t come.”
Now think about it for a minute ... even if others had had the intellectual fortitude to understand what needed to be done, would anyone but the courageous, fearless Republicans have had the intestinal fortitude to actually act on their understanding?
Fortunately for America, at this critical juncture, we were ruled by people willing to waterboard pow's in order to manufacture evidence for an imaginary link between Bin Laden and Saddam in order to justify a necessary and visionary war of aggression in service of Cheney's desire to assert control and force over the world and Bush's weird oedipal complex.
Yes, only these heroes were prepared to do the unthinkable, but necessary, to scuttle the US economy in order to stem the society-destroying onslaught of illegal immigration.
And now we're reaping the benefit
The recently released data show that about 226,000 fewer people emigrated from Mexico to other countries during the year that ended in August 2008 than during the previous year, a decline of 25 percent. All but a very small fraction of emigration, both legal and illegal, from Mexico is to the United States.
Thank God for the Republicans!
