Hello and welcome to another installment of Labor Diary Rescue. Diaries are below the fold.
I while back I posted a clip from Network in the comments of a diary. It's where the newscaster goes on his infamous "I'm mad as hell!" rant. One of the lines that struck me was "You've got to say 'I'm a human being, goddammit! My life has value!'".
As I heard that I realized that we all need to be saying that a little more. Especially at work where we put up with poor pay, stupid and petty bosses, and bad hours. We're told that we need to take the lower wage, the poor healthcare (if we can even get it), and to work for 60 hours a week just so we can make a paycheck large enough to put even the slightest of dents in our bills. Because if we do that, then and only then can we keep our jobs.
We've got to remember that we're human beings, goddammit! Our lives have value! And who the fuck is anybody else to say no when we demand wages that will help us put food on our family's table?!
You deserve to be treated with dignity at your job. And fuck anyone who says otherwise! Now get out of your chairs and scream "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
The Labor Diary Rescue is every Monday and Thursday evenings barring a bad internet connection or Acts of God. If you have a pro-union diary and want it to get rescued, your diary must have less than 100 comments, be fact based, have the word "union" or "labor" in the tag line, and not been on any other diary rescue list or the rec list.
There’s a huge collection of diaries tonight.
