I used to be a daily poster at DailyKos. After Obama won the Presidency, I felt that I lost my passion in politics and I decided to explore what the interweb and life had to offer. I'm just going to muse about a few things.
The American Left and Right wings are basically like wings of a bird, a bird that obviously enjoys stretching them out and pitting them against each other for its' own amusement.
As described in my intro, I used to be a daily poster here at DailyKos. Looking back on the way that I used to react (insulting others, trying to quiet them), I began to realize that I was not being myself and I was allowing my otherwise independent nature to be re-defined by progressive politics.
You see, there's more to life than political bickering. There's more to life than raising money for one political candidate to beat another political candidate. After Obama won, I was happy but exhausted at the same time. I defended him furiously whenever I saw people make snide comments at other places or in real life.
Now, I've come to realize that I'm taking the wrong approach. One of the things that I've learned these past few months is that the truth of all matters, lies somewhere in the middle of it all. It's non-political though. The universe is vast and there are many areas that man has not yet touched or is not yet aware of.
What I'm trying to say is that I started to explore my spiritual side more. I checked out websites that would normally be dismissed as conspiracy websites because I was on a search for the truth (and I still am). I wanted to satisfy my curiosity of whether or not life could exist outside of our galaxy, outside of this planet. I became fascinated with the tales of ancient civilizations, the Mayan calendar and extraterrestrial life.
I've found a lot of support though from those I've interacted with online. It's really no different from the support I found on DailyKos. I met other souls who were questioning things the same way that I was. I've met some folks who are stuck in the current cycle of things, on both the left and the right end of the political spectrum. I've met folks who were nothing but paranoid and fear-based. I've met folks with a very positive mindset and a calmness about them.
It's hard for me to wrap things up sometimes but I don't want to go too much into details. What I will say is that despite what the media is saying about Obama, I believe the truth lies in the middle. I really want Obama to succeed but I also want to know what his true intentions are because so far, he's really good at playing chess. You don't really know what his next move is going to be. The people he surrounds himself with are less than desirable, but his moves have been independent of them. Joe Biden can make gaffes but Obama himself doesn't seem to be affected by them.
We are moving into a new paradigm and a new world of spiritual awakening. Everyone has the potential to re-make the world as a world of love and a world of light.
So as we constantly defend our political ideologies against those that we perceive as our "enemies", we should take a break to pause and think about what we are doing. Think about the energy that you are using and what you are spending it on.
