With Republicans flailing about every which way, falling over themselves, tripping over their words and speaking out of both sides of their mouths, it's hard for me not to school a moron of the highest order like Governor Gibbons of Nevada. Let's make this real clear for the Governor shall we? First a simple dictionary reference below the fold:
Hypocrite, noun
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
Okay, clear enough to me. Clear as mud to a Republican.
Gibbons criticizes Obama over denied meeting request
"I am disappointed at the hypocrisy shown by this administration," Gibbons said in a prepared statement. "President Obama is coming to Las Vegas later this month for a political fundraiser, but he will not help the struggling families in Las Vegas and Nevada who are out of work because of his reckless comments."
Gibbons is referring to comments Obama made earlier this year regarding business trips to Las Vegas by companies receiving federal bailout money.
"This is politics, pure and simple, President Obama stood for change, but all he has done is brought negative economic change to Nevada," Gibbons said.
Care to go back two months ago, Governor?
Governor Plans to Decline Some Stimulus Money
Governor Gibbons says there are just too many strings attached to some of the federal stimulus dollars. The governor says he will take the money without unfunded mandates.
"Let me give you just one; it's the unemployment insurance level. It's just four weeks of assistance that they are giving us, but it requires mandatory, permanent, irrevocable changes to our tax system and to how we decide who qualifies for receiving unemployment," he said.
Oh, I don't know, how about those "struggling families" you just said Obama doesn't give a rats ass about.
Governor rejects stimulus money when the state’s unemployment rate is among the highest in nation.
In the state legislature of Nevada, Governor Jim Gibbons caused ire across party lines with his recent pleas for lawmakers to reject federal stimulus money, which is intended to help pay unemployment benefits.
...
Nevada, however, suffers from an increasing rate of employment, at 10.1% now, and is one of the leading states suffering amidst the downtrend economy. In fact, the state’s unemployment benefits program will be without any funds within a year according to current predictions.
So, Obama rails against corporations using OUR TAX DOLLARS to fund their expensive trips to Las Vegas for high-flyin' executives, and somehow that was what irrevocably damaged the tourism industry of Nevada? Puh-leeeeze.
Governor, you can't have it both ways. You seem to have NO PROBLEM with corporations using tax dollars to fund Nevada tourism, and yet you have a serious problem with using tax dollars to help your state's unemployed masses.
You sir, are the hypocrite.
