MSNBC has just announced that the White House will announce the Supreme Court Pick at 10:15am ET.
This is the week to announce the pick because Congress is home for the week on Memorial Day break.
Sonia Sotomayor is the pick!
Some background:
Chuck Todd has just said on MSNBC that Obama was BLOWN AWAY by Sotomayor when he met her on Thursday for her interview. Chuck Todd has said that Obama said that after he met her he felt that she would have been one of his friends he would have hung out with in Chicago. They were "sympatico".

President Barack Obama will select New York federal judge Sonia Sotomayor to be the next Supreme Court justice, naming the first Hispanic justice to the high court and adding a second woman to the panel.
Sotomayor was seen as the leading candidate throughout the process to replace Justice David Souter, both for her judicial experience and because she would make history by adding to the diversity of the court, long dominated by white men.
What Chuck wrote in his column on First Read about Sonia Sotomayor:

One, it's clear Sotomayor -- whom the president knew the least about when this process began -- blew Obama away when he interviewed her on Thursday. In fact, White House officials believe that once Senate Democrats get to know her, they'll be as blown away as the president was, and she'll be confirmed easily.
Sonia Sotomayor is my first choice. She was attacked from the very beginning by anonymous people which made me like her even more.
This is the week to announce the pick because Congress is home for the week on Memorial Day break. As a result, there will be less Republicans speaking out against the nominee because they are home.
Of course expect to see the "usual suspects" come out and blast whom ever the nominee is but this week the GOP Congress will have to phone in to say what they have to say.
Out of the Final 4, Sotomayor was attacked the most and will be attacked for being an "activist" judge as well as her ruling on affirmative action.
Should be interesting just how far the GOP will attack her. They may end up isolating minorities particularly Hispanics in the end. There may end up being a bigger wedge between the GOP and Latinos than there already is.
I already see the Right-wing talking points since Joe Scarborough is spewing them on Morning Joe this morning. He is saying that Obama who is extremely liberal has picked a very liberal Supreme Court Justice who the white people from the South will have a problem with because of her view on affirmative action.
Let the fireworks begin!
