Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty will not be running for a third term. It will be great to see his back. His no-new-taxes philosophy forced local governments (cities and counties) to raise property taxes to pay for basic services.
Pawlenty can take his tired, borrow-n-spend, ultra-right christian ideology to New Hampshire and Iowa. He's been ignoring Minnesota's needs over the last year (at least) as he positions himself for a presidential run.
His lasting legacy will be unallotment.
He vetoed a responsible budget passed by the Democrat-dominated legislature that embraced a pay-as-you-go mentality and will be slashing government services as he sees fit.
