It seems there are a lot of people on here who have justified their position on late term abortions by surmising that the vast majority of these abortions are done due to genetic anomalies. However, I have searched and searched and also asked for data suggesting this and nobody has delivered.
So what if it turns out to be a myth? Are you still supportive? If so then why even use that argument?
More over the fold.
oice is a morality that takes you morally out of the picture."
If you are stating an opinion and you try and justify said opinion with fact then you better have such facts. If not then just leave out the "facts". Does anyone think late term abortions should be illegal if no genetic anomaly is found? I do not think so.
So why try and argue on the lines of genetic anomalies when the fact is they are legal for anyone seeking such a procedure?
Even if only 10 women had the procedure on a healthy fetus should we not stand up for those 10 women? Quit idealizing an issue to make yourself comfortable with reality. You are either in favor of late term abortions remaining legal or you are not. Leave the arguments about anomalies alone unless you have significant certifiable data suggesting that is anything more than opinion.
The reason I say this is that if you build your argument on fetal anomalies then what if they change the law on that premise? What if the law is only women whose fetus have certain anomalies and it fails to protect others?
Why build your argument this way if you support the legal use of this procedure?
