Having been out of school for more than a week grading AP exams, I really don't have much time for blogging right now.
But some things deserve the effort. Above the fold, to introduce you to Creigh Deeds, how about letting the man speak for himself:
Please also stop below the fold
Over at Blue Commonwealth we are coming together.
Today we had two diaries by supporters of other candidates who are now vigorously supporting our nominee.
Editor KathyinBlacksburg, a McAuliffe supporter, offered We Are All Deeds ASupporters Now
and someone well known here at Daily Kos, Moran supporter RenaRF offered Pivot
Both are worth your reading.
And if you would like to see the thoroughness of the victory by Deeds, you might look at Patrick Ottenhoff's Virginia Primary Map: Creigh Sweeps from Clarendon to Coal Country - the map will make clear the sweeping nature.
And if you are less visual and more verbal or mathematical, consider this
Virginia has 11 Congressional Districts - Deeds won 10
Virginia has 95 counties - Deeds won 94
Virginia has 39 independent cities - Deeds won 34.
The places that knew him best, like Bath, Alleghany and Highland counties, gave him over 90% of the vote.
This is a fine man. Do not let his demeanor fool you. He is a very savvy politician. And he is on people's radar now - today he got phone calls from Gov Perdue, Speaker Pelosi, VP Biden and the President. In the midst of all that he still had time to tweet, to return direct messages from friendly Virginia bloggers :-) and to do a slew of media interviews.
Peace.
