If there are any DC Kossacks out there, I hope that you can make it out next Tuesday for our annual Grassroots Fundraiser to support Netroots Nation. This year, we've got some of our favoriate elected Kossacks joining us! Sen Russ Feingold (UID: 46691), Rep Brad Miller (UID: 50012) and a host of other great progressives (more info after the jump) will be joining us. Won't you join us also?
In addition to Sen Russ Feingold and Rep Brad Miller, we've got a few more elected Kossacks who are scheduled to attend...
Rep Eric Massa, another longtime Kossack, (UID: 60591) who kicked and clawed his way into Congress last fall (with YOUR help) will be on hand as well. Rep Massa is already defending his constituents against slimy corporations (and winning). A few months ago Time Warner announced a deal to charge broadband users in Western New York by usage as opposed to the standard flat rate. Rep Massa took them on and won! I suspect we'll be seeing more of Rep Massa defending a free and open internet in the future!
Also joining us is Rep Earl Blumenauer (UID: 93206) who is perhaps best known as the Chair (and founder?) of the Congressional Bike Caucus but he is also a strong advocate for smart growth and public transportation, not to mention lots of other great stuff. I could tell you more, but I'd rather you come on Tuesday and hear for yourself!
And finally, Rep Raul Grijalva who may not be a Kossack in UID, but is certainly one in spirit. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, he is helping to lead the fight in Congress for sensible, progressive policy.
So any of you all in the DC area, I hope I see you next Tuesday:
