I thought this commercial was funny and is sooooooo true.  This healthcare debate is just really ramping up but it is already really draining.  I thought I'd send out something that will give us a pause before we get back into the fight.  Please take a minute to view.  This is how the Dems should be hitting the Repubs on their talking points.

HCAN is coming out swinging.  Just look at this video.

There is also another video floating around on a couple of other diaries.  Also, I am happy the House just put out an outline of their plan and it appears to have a Public Option in it!!  Maybe that is why the senate plan does not have one because they can always add it during reconciliation (hmmm interesting strategy). We just need to keep up with the calls, e-mails, and faxes.  And support President Obama's media push when he starts next week on ABC.

DON'T FORGET MARCH ON WASHINGTON IS NEXT WEEK. JUNE 25TH!! Hope to see all of you there.

UPDATE: Tom Daschle feeling the heat! He is trying to walk back what he said yesterday. People are not stupid.http://voices.washingtonpost.com/...

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

The Democrats will eviscerate the health care bill to appease the Republicans and the Blue Dogs (who are republican double agents, essentially).  The remaining bill will do little to provide benefits for anyone who doesn't already have them.  It will force working people to buy insurance that they can't afford that won't pay for anything except catastrophic illnesses. There will be a tax on employer provided benefits that will accelerate the decline of employer based health insurance.

The Republicans will vote AGAINST it after having created the monster in the first place.  The plan will totally SUCK and the Democrats will be blamed for taxing benefits and passing a mandate for private insurance.

There will be an electoral bloodbath in 2010 and Obama's administration will be crippled for the remainder of his (possibly only one) term.

On the other hand,  we may possibly defeat all this nonsense and create a real, viable public option that saves lives and family savings and propels the Democrats on to a generation of control of the White House and puts the final nail in the coffin of the rotten stinking GOP.  CONTINUE MAKING THOSE CALLS TO YOUR CONGRESS FOLKS!

I fail to see why the DC Democrats cannot fathom the politics of this.

if they do this they will be set for years to come.  If not the faithful will lose faith and either no participate in the process or really start trying to primary Democrats with independents

They are definitely heading down the road you have laid out. This is essentially the 'Bacus' option.  Put a gun to people's head and making them buying insurance they cannot afford.  And then, those who are luck enough to get insurance, will have it taxed to pay for those who can't.  And all that money will wind up in the coffers of the health insurance industry.  We should just call it the "Health Insurance Give-a-way Act of 2009"

Oh, and the reason why they can't see the politics is that they are too blinded by the people who paid for them to be there.  What does the Insurance Industry care if the Dems are voted out as long as they get there give-a-way?

What does the Insurance Industry care if the Dems are voted out as long as they get there give-a-way?

That is the prime reason that the Democrats are playing with fire with this issue.

The Democrats were propelled into power in 2006 and 2008 out of sheer, utter revulsion at the GOP.  Most people voted Democratic because they came to a visceral loathing of the Republicans, not because the Democrats were all that great. It would only take a few percent of recent Democratic voters getting disgusted and throwing up their hands to have the whole shooting match slide back into Republican hands.

When you shove your constituents' faces into a cow pile, don't expect them to come around when it's time to vote.

for President Obama and the democrats benefited from that vote. I guess they think we'll forget or that we don't have a choice but to vote for a Dem. Not so. Times have changed and information and being able to organize is as easy and pressing the post button.

... write and/or call your Senator and Representative and send a note to the president, too so that he is present to huge support for a public option.

No one said this would be an easy battle.

The house version has a public option.  The Senate will be tougher.  It is too early to dispair.
