It's the least we can do. I understand, "wear X color for Y cause" campaigns are WAY overdone in our society. But come on. Anyone who supports the Iranians marching for freedom while wearing a Red Sox cap, a Lakers jersey, or a Nike logo cannot even start to argue with this. Really. What's more important here?
Just look at Al Rodgers' highly recommended diary. Showing the color is obviously a huge point of solidarity with these people, and I think most of us are with them.
So...if you support the people peacefully fighting for freedom in Iran, WEAR GREEN.
Think of them like I did when I put my green shirt on this morning. Think of them every time you see that color on yourself and someone else. Think about the struggle they are going through yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
I have to give Senator John Kerry the credit for making this not-so-inventive but highly obvious idea pop into my head, when he blatantly wore a green tie during an interview with Chris Matthews on Hardball yesterday. I can't find the video clip yet...wondering if someone much more technologically adept than I can find it in 15 seconds and post it for me! Ha ha.
WEAR GREEN! Support these people in fighting for their lives, for their country, FOR THEIR FREEDOM!
