From Al Jezeera:
Iran police 'use gas' on protesters
Al Jazeera's Alireza Ronaghi, reporting from Tehran, said there were reports that riot police had been deployed to every major square in Tehran.
"We hear that in some of the main squares in northern Tehran, the riot police and plainclothes forces outnumber the people - let alone the Revolution Square, which was supposed to be the main point where apparently the protesters were going to begin their protest," he said.
"They have started to impose their presence on the crowd, then they're going to start to restrict the presence of the people by pressing them back.
"Now it is tear gas, I'm sure it won't take them very long to start using other kinds of ammunition."
The comment came as Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karoubi declined to meet the Guardian Council, Iran's highest legislative body, concerning 646 complaints of voting irregularities in the June 12 poll.
The council had called for a meeting to discuss the vote, which both Mousavi and Karoubi have said should be annulled.
It seems as though the crackdown in going to be full force. There is nothing else that can be considered at this time. The people are turning out in high numbers and are scared but still going.
From Andrew Sullivan twitter posts:
I am scared, but I am going.
You may write me down in history--With your bitter twisted lies--You may trod me in the very dirt--But still like dust I'll rise." M.A.

From Voice of America:
Iranian Police Clash with Protesters
Witnesses in Iran's capital Tehran say riot police used tear gas on Saturday in an effort to disperse thousands of protesters.
State television said police clashed with what it called "rioters." Iran has greatly restricted international media coverage in the country, but witnesses speaking to VOA's Persian News Network and other news agencies say thousands of residents were in the streets attempting to stage protests in defiance of warnings by the government.
I don't know what will come of this, but I will keep an eye on things and update as I find more information.
Stand tall, people of Iran. We cannot take your pain nor can we take your place, but know that many of us would stand with you.
Update:
Water cannons being used as well according to Detriot Free Press.
