Monday morning, 9am. We don’t have a choice.
We must call our Senators and respective members of Congress to tell them one thing and one thing only.
“I am one of the 72% of Americans who support the public option.”
We call because this is it ladies and gentlemen. The clock is ticking, time is running out, and our elected officials are playing politics with our health. I don’t give a good goddamn if we get a single Republican vote. I don’t give a good goddamn if we don’t get every Democratic vote. I don’t give a good god damn if the GOP comes out swinging next cycle with their fear mongering over the costs, with their rants about how the “democrat” party is making your decisions about your health for you instead of a doctor, with their baseless attacks using every tired trick in Rove’s book. I don’t give a good god damn because once it’s passed it’ll be harder than a diamond to break down.
Monday morning, 9am. We don’t have a choice.
There are children dying that can be saved, but they don’t have enough money.
There are mothers and fathers dying that can be saved, but they don’t have enough money.
There are grandparents dying far too early that can be saved, but they don’t have enough money.
There are our neighbors and coworkers dying far too early that can be saved, but they don’t have enough money.
This is supposed to be America, this is supposed to be the best country in the world, and this is supposed to be where the beacon of light leads you to freedom and prosperity. But there are Americans dying far too early that can be saved, but they don’t have enough money.
Call us socialists, call us totalitarians, call us anti-American, call us what you will. But there are Americans dying far too early that can be saved, but they don’t have enough money.
Monday morning, 9am. We don’t have a choice.
“I am one of the 72% of Americans who support the public option.”
It’s a simple phrase, and it’s a simple plan. But if the public option isn’t passed because of politics and the want to appear bi-partisan, then our elected leaders have failed us, because we are part of the 72% of Americans who support the public option.

Our health is far too important to play political games with. Our lives are far too important to allow money to affect if we live another day.
