Mike Madden's article in today's Salon has a gem of a quote from a GOP polling memo by Whit Ayres and Ed Gillespie:
Indeed, "government bureaucrats" are scarcely less appealing than "insurance bureaucrats" ...
I couldn't have said it better myself. Sure, I've had run-ins with insensitive government bureaucrats, but those experiences are nothing like dealing with health insurance people. Government bureaucrats may not care about you, but insurance bureaucrats are actively against you: giving you care means they lose money.
Of course there are considerate (or empathetic) people in both government and insurance, but all the same, I think most folks would rather deal with the former than the latter. The GOPosaurs have hit on an excellent frame for this debate. Let's use it!
