Straight up Governor--you are hiding something. You hid it from your family, your staff, your constituents, your citizenry.
Before we go any further--NO--you do not get to claim this a matter of privacy. You see, it's called public life for a reason. You want privacy, then resign.
So, what were you hiding?
See, it's like this. There's only a small menu of possible activities a man NEEDS to hide from the public eye.
Like having an affair behind your wife's back.
Like taking illegal cash contributions from foreigners.
Like laying the groundwork for fleeing the country with $700 million in stimulus funds (OK--maybe THAT's a little farfetched...maybe).
You see, Governors are allowed to take vacations. Governors are allowed to leave the country. But normally, it's all in the public eye. You know, to prevent the appearance of improprieties such as the above. And to ensure that the proper chain of command is in place should an emergency come up, like--say--a hellish streak of tornadoes caused by the extreme swings in climate brought on by the global warming you and yours claim doesn't exist. Or like calling out the National Guard to protect the citizens from the imminent release of Terrorists from Gitmo...
See, crazy talk. But it cuts two ways. Sometimes three ways. Like the three-ways you treated yourself to in Buenos Aires.
Unfair you say?
Then why the deception, why the secrecy?
You MUST have been hiding something.
