Hello. I'm not a regular diarist, but I'm sick of the Sanford nonsense, and I'd like to alert you to something that may have gotten swept under the rug.
They may have found the cure for cancer.
Or at the very least the cure for a cancer.
Don't take my word for it. Follow this link to video from MSNBC. It relates stories from a 29-year breast cancer patient and prostate cancer patient with bone metastasis who took an oral medication called PARP (Poly(Adenosine Diphosphate [ADP]–Ribose) Polymerase 1 (PARP1)) Inhibitors, and experienced significant reversal of tumor growth, and even reversal of metastasis.

This is a huge breakthrough for women like the women in my family, who carry the BRCA1 gene.
This breakthrough, along with the recently-filed lawsuit to vacate Myriad Genetic's patent on the BRCA gene, is the best news I've had in a long time.
I'd like to add that I've been participating in the efforts to help push through a National Public health insurance plan. At Jane Hamsher's request, I have been "whipping it." I've never been a position of getting by on catastrophe coverage. I've been paying out the nose for health care for years, and this is just for coverage and monitoring. I live in absolute terror of ever needing to go to my insurance company for an actual problem. I gnash my teeth, wondering how much of what I pay goes into supporting bureaucracy rather than care.
Thank you to everyone who is helping to push the public option forward, when it would be so easy to cop out, to let it go. Please keep it up.
