This is to Redstate.com user E Pluribus Unum. Whose bitter diatribe (http://www.redstate.com/e_pluribus_unum/2009/06/24/to-majority-media-and-other-democrats-we-police-
our-own-and-you-dont-get-to-judge/) again goes for the throat of absolute wingnut stupidity.
We do get to judge. So fuck you. American civic discourse is dead. Your party killed it. You played with fire for the better part of the twentieth century. Selling out to religious lunatics who want nothing more than to turn America into a Christian Theocratic state.
You are so bitter and ashamed of where you are that you snap out in the dark like a child who is mad that he broke his own toy. Yes, we do get to judge.
Who among us care about the infidelity of a man who has clearly fallen in love with another woman? I do not, for one. I wish no ill will on the governor or his family. I feel that attacks on them is in poor taste. I do not believe in fighting chicken shits like you by flinging chicken shit back at you.
You allege with no proof about how there is voluminous evidence on how Democrats judge Republicans to some higher standard. Of this you are incorrect and mistaken. Both parties are rife with corruption. No man is a standard bearer all to himself. Even those we trust the most will fail us without fail.
My problem with Mark Sanford is that he is just another political zombie who would rather win political points with gamesmanship about values than to serve America and his constituants by trying to make a real difference. In your party's abscence of leadership vacuum- talking points won out.
Of course you will say but Obama this and Pelosi that. And that's fine. You accept your disastrous party because they are not the candidates from my disastrous party. A nice zero sum game. Thanks for playing. We both lose. But you are still wrong. I do get to judge.
You complain that we do not police our own. My vote is my police authority. My level of interest. My activism. If Obama is a failure in my estimation I will not vote for him again. This is a lesson you failed to learn after four years of Bush. You have no right to vote for a failed incumbant for party sake. To do so is to be bought off. For this- I do get to judge.
You look back at anger for how we did not endorse your politbureau chest beating at Bill Clinton and his White House fellatio. As if pushing a man into a corner to admit infidelity based on the unfettered access he gave a special prosecuter due to a political miscalculation can compare to the disastrous trajectory of your evangelical wizard and his army of chicken hawks. Yes, we do get to judge.
For we judged our Elliot Spitzers and Rod Blagoyaviches and any other creature who serves his own ego above that of their office and we expect you to do the same.
So spare us the mock outrage of deteriorating cultural values. Your party is drawn from the same muck and mire. Spare us the historical amnesia and double speak about fiscal responsibility when your party owns the lion share of the debt. Spare us the conceit that you somehow hold rule over our opinions- as if we should obey just because your toy is broken and you are in the corner crying.
There has to be a parent in this equation. This time it's not you.
