Congress is deliberating the Markey/Waxman energy omnibus bill right now. It's called the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (H.R. 2454).
You can watch on CSPAN
Michelle Bacuman just made a hillarious speech endorsing an alternate (Republican) bill. She said the choice between the two bill was akin to choosing liberty over tyranny. She provided some comic relief for proceedings that have been very frustrating to watch. The Republicans are predicably insane and the Dems fail to mention that the Markey/Waxman bill would provide financing for dozens of new commercial nuclear reactors - reactors that the private sector/Wall Street won't finance due to decades of mismanagement and cost over runs.

I know this diary is thin. It's just an anchor for discussion.

Update 6:07 PM EST: John Boehner fillibustering under some obscure House rule.
Boehner Tries to Stall Energy Vote By Jackie Kucinich Roll Call Staff June 26, 2009, 5:43 p.m. In an attempt to stall the passage of the Democratic energy bill, Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Friday began reading the text of the 300-page Democratic amendment during his closing remarks on the bill. Pelosi comes to the floor to say that "the bill means jobs, jobs, jobs". She fails to mention that it means a new generation of commercial nuclear reactors.
Just gimme some truth.
The truth is, this entire bill is a clean energy bill. We have in huge subsidies for clean coal—huge—much more than we have in for renewables. We already have all of these nuclear programs, as well. No one is saying that any of these technologies are going to be excluded. — Rep. Ed Markey
