Same old. Same old.
However, this week, reports said the Israeli government had authorized the construction of 300 homes at a Jewish settlement in the West Bank, defying U.S. calls for a halt to settlement growth. Officials said 60 houses in the Talmon settlement have already been built, but they denied that approval was given for the other 240 houses.
It is my suspicion that this latest expansion is a trial balloon on how resolved Obama is to upholding his policies. If he ignores it, the Settlers will keep repeating the same procedure over and over again. Take note of the speed on which they build. Blink and the West Bank will become a province of Israel dotted by Bantustans.
Also... I am curious as to just where the border is for this "Natural Growth" thing. The IDF adjusts the security perimeter for every new building by confiscating more Palestinian Land. To do otherwise would risk having the buildings too close to hostile attack. So if a Settlement gets to be the size of New York, does the Settlers get to "Natural Growth" to the size of the US City?
