It appears our dear friend Michael Steele has caught a bout of "the crazy." He wants to talk to Sarah Palin about going to New Jersey and Virginia to help the gubenatorial candidates. More below the fold:
Here's what Steele said according to ABC's, The Note:
"I plan on talking to Gov. Palin very soon," Steele said in a written statement. "She is an important and galvanizing voice in the Republican Party. I believe she will be very helpful to the party this year as we wage critical campaigns in Virginia and New Jersey.
First, shouldn't the Chairman of the GOOpers have some sort of political acumen. Not sure if he knows this, but New Jersey voters rejected Sarah Palin by a 57-42% margin. Virginia wasn't that far behind. Given that, I'm sure Creigh Deeds and Jon Corzine are literally terrified of the Wasilla Wonder. To anyone with half political good sense, its pretty obvious that the key to victory (if any) for Christopher Christie and Bob McConnell in Virginia is to keep their respective races as local as possible. You bring in Palin to nationalize it, then it'll only anger those moderate suburban voers who rejected the McCain-Palin train in 2008.
Second, someone once jokingly said that maybe Michael Steele was a Democratic plant. Given his decision to nationalize the New York 23 Congressional race and his habit of sticking his foot in his mouth, maybe he is our godsend. Lets hope the Party of Michael Steele, Jon Ensign, Sarah Palin, and Mark Sanford never end. They'll sure keep us laughing into Chelsea Clinton's second term in 2028.
