GREED, freshened up for another hard year of duty
Startling, too, is how much of its revenue Goldman is expected to share with its employees. Analysts estimate that the bank will set aside enough money to pay a total of $18 billion in compensation and benefits this year to its 28,000 employees, or more than $600,000 an employee. Top producers stand to earn millions.
Producers? What in the hell are they producing? Seriously. Last I heard, jobless rates are still going up and are expected to continue to do so for a while.
So Goldman Sachs has climbed out of the gutter of financial ruin, with public money, and proudly displays the vulgar bullshit that is the capitalist dream. How many of these people do you think are in favor of single payer health care?
Or how many of the Health insurance magnates are in favor of universal health care? Remember THIS diary where 10 of the high flyers pulled in from 3.2M to 23.4 Million dollars last year?
If you lay, side by side, the craptacular events that have raised enough hand-wringing, excited gesticulation, angry masturbation, heated dialogue, global protests of the past decade, you'd find ONE common problem at the bottom of each:
GREED
And yet we'd rather talk about the policies of health care , the policies of war, the policies of the financial market, the policies of just how much coal is enough, how many acres are just enough to plow under....
Guess-fucking-what? You already know fucking what:
Insurance, Pharma = Greed
War for Oil = Greed
Financial Markets = Greed
Development = Greed
Hell, greed even destroyed the entire economy of Iceland, thought to be a well educated land of harmony.
So while we fight the good fight and try to keep our heads above water, the parade of naked, shameless greed goes on virtually unnoticed and vastly underreported.
After all, we have enough to be worried about? Right? And nobody would dare suggest compensation caps, because, you know, that would just be wrong and, and... make things wronger.
