You just have to close all the loopholes they have to avoid paying taxes...
Tax and accounting loopholes that largely benefit rich taxpayers and companies cost the government $20 billion a year even as the pay gap between chief executives and employees has widened, two groups said on Monday.
The old saying that the country is paid for by the middle class still holds true. The rich hire accountants to manipulate the books in a way in which they don't pay squat...
Another way to generate money for our government is to impose tariffs on foreign governments importing their goods into the United States. Thom Hartman reported yesterday that the Japanese pay a 2% tariff on their cars while we pay a 20% tariff if we want to sell cars in Japan. We need to start generating goods in this country in order to build a sustainable economy. Create good jobs (which is somthing we never hear the GOP talk about) that will support our own economy.
Everyone is bleeding our country dry.
We outsource all of our jobs, We give huge tax breaks to country's selling their good in the USA, we don't penalize the unfair practice of insourcing cheap (go after the businessmen who break the law and hire illegal immigrants), we let multinational corporations set up shop outside of our country to overt paying into our system while they reap the rewards and we reward the greed on wallstreet while we penalize the union workers who want a very small peice of the pie in order to raise their families and have a better life.
Start by doing fixing these major problems first before proposing new taxes. Make sure everyone is paying into the system fairly.
I'm sure it would generate more than enough money to run government.
