All the media news outlets are reporting that Rasmussen has the most accurate polling data available.
This is misleading...
Everyone who watches the news is bombarded with "polls" suggesting what Americans are saying and feeling.
I contacted Media Matters and most of the non Faux media channels to look into this...
Take for example:
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/...
53% Now Oppose Congressional Health Care Reform
Now that sounds pretty convincing huh...
The question I asked is wow... I wonder how many people they polled...
The answer is 1000 people out of aprox. 300 million Americans.
If media outlets are going to use these polls they need to also tell the public how many were polled...
This is their own disclaimer at the bottom of the link above...
This national telephone survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports on July 20-21, 2009. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence (see methodology).
I did a poll on my blog about how many people ate a live kitten in their life time.. Two said yes, Two said no.
So according to my poll 50% of Americans ate a live kitten in their lifetime.
This is of course an fictional example...
