I've commented on several healthcare diaries re:concern for bias againest healthcare by IN Blue-Dog, junior senator, Evan Bayh. Sunday's Indianapolis Star gave me the numbers to explain how indebted Bayh is to healthcate industry.
After setting a framework for the arguements between liberal and conservatives, Daniel Lee says this about the senator from Indiana:
But for Bayh, healthcare isn't just the latest political fight in Congress. It is a substantial part of his family's income.
I'm a relatively new diary writer and am always nervous about the "diary police." I never know how much of a published article is acceptable to include in a diary, but I will include in a blockquote below the fold the total numbers in today's newspaper.
If you think this information is useful for understanding the healthcare vote and the healthcare influence on Senators and House members, reeommmend this diary or link it to others in the healthcare discussion.

Update: Letters to the editor in Tuesday's Indianapolis Star respond w. outrage. One response was "Ordinary citizen's don't have a chance" with author telling of experience w. MOVE/ON's attempt to see Senator Lugar but we met by an aide with no knowledge of healthcare legislation. He posits the question whether newly appointed Eli Lily Execuative, Former Mayor Bart Peterson, would get the same run-around.
The other letter to the editor was appaled by the amount of money family members of congress earn from healthcare related industries.
