When asked if she how she would vote on a bill that does not include a public option, via email Rep. Chellie Pingree reiterated her stance from last week:
"I'm not going to vote for any House bill that doesn't include a robust public option without any triggers or coops--that's a must-have for me."
Pingree was my State Senator back in the 1990's, when she led fight to get Maine Rx passed over industry opposition (and imagine what that was like in our small state). She is committed to single payer - she is a cosponsor of H.R. 676, the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act.
If your Congressman isn't committed to a public option in the least, then call them - demand that they do. And then get your friends, your neighbors, your family - even that uncle who scoffs at everything.
