Well, my Clever friend Paul has done it again.

Move-on sent a mailer to its members requesting they sign a petition addressed to CNN President, Jon Klein. The petition demands that CNN publicly address Lou Dobbs' support of the tin foil hat Birther loonies and clarify CNN's corporate position on the subject.

My own personalized response appealed to whatever concerns Mr. Klein and CNN may have over reversing the organization's ever waning credibility as a legitimate news source.  I suggested that he not reduce CNN to a Fox wannabe and throw away the millions of viewers who are hungry for real news in the tradition of Walter Cronkite.
I thought that was a nice, sober response, but...

Paul's response to CNN took a more novel and poignant approach -
One that reeks of Poetic Justice...

While I don't have possession of Paul's actual response, here are his comments on the gist of his request to Mr. Klein:

"In the space alloted for my comment, I  pointed out to CNN that Dobbs
often slurs his speech during his broadcasts.  I asked whether Dobbs can
produce documented proof that he is not an alcoholic or drug abuser.  I'm
kinda hoping he is.  I'd prefer to think that his thought processes are
"influenced" by something other than raw greed.

The downside of all of this is that CNN is likely to view 19 gazilllion
emails as an affirmation of Dobbs' value to them and give him a raise.  The
upside is he might spend it on booze or drugs and might not be able to find
his way back to the studio after lunch."

PERFECT, MY FRIEND!
Let CNN and Mr. Dobbs spend the rest of their natural days defending Mr. Dobbs' questionable sobriety.
To properly answer Paul's question to Mr. Klein, all we should ask of CNN and Lou is that he simply take an on-camera breathalyzer test at the start of each show.  If Lou has nothing to hide, I'm sure he'll comply with our request.
Is that asking too much?
(He doesn't even have to prove he's human)

Update from Paul:

"CNN is supposed to respond to complaints within the news cycle. but they have yet to offer me any credible evidence whatsoever that Lou Dobbs is not a raging drunk or else a depraved drug addict who gets his illicit drugs from a syphilitic street person who prays on little girls.  I mean, I demanded proof several hours ago.  Come on CNN.  All he has to do to clear his name is come up with some solid evidence."

Dontcha just love this guy?

Update #2: Dear Dawn - This Diary is S N A R K!
God I hate to have to explain that.  Reminds me of the lobster scene in Annie Hall.

Mort Sahl on  Wernher von Braun: "He aimed for the stars and often hit London."
That has nothing to do with anything -  just popped into my head. w

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
