I searched the Daily Kos' diaries, stories and comments and I couldn't find a single reference to Patrolman Carlos Figueroa. Figueroa claims to have been in Gates' house and that everything was done by the book. He calims to have interviewed Lucia Whalen as well.
Here's the links to both Crowley and Figueroa's reports

Now, we all no now that Lucia Whalen has stated that she didn't talk to the police on the scene. So, either she is lying or the two officers are, as they both report talking to her. WHY is this not important anymore????
Also, Figuroa's timeline is off. Crowley plainly states that he is on the porch when he first sees Gates. That's when the line "No I will not" happens. In Figueroa's report, he says he was inside the house when he heard Gates say "No I will not". Now it's possible that Gates may have repaetedly said he wouldn't identify himself but there have been no reports about that I've seen.
These conflicting reports might have a lot to do with the arrest being thrown out so quickly.
I think Crowley and Figueroa need to answer the questions about the conflicts in their reports and the conflict with Lucia Whalen. Some reporter in Cambridge or Boston has a job to do. Until they say Whalen is lying, their stories are suspect.
Right now I believe Gates and Obama are being the "bigger" persons and letting Crowley off easy. I haven't quite figured out why yet.
