As most of you know, Chris Dodd has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. You might think that this would engender an empathic response from political friend and foe alike.
And, well, you would be wrong.
Let me offer a sampling of some of the comments in the "Comments Section" from the article in the Hartford Courant:
Sadly I can't believe anything this man says anymore. My first thought when I saw this headline was, wow what a desperate PR stunt.

That, unfortunately, as about as good as it gets.
well, if cancer is what it takes to get him out of office, then I am all for it. Dodd is the worst, dishonest and a crook with his house over in Ireland which he even lies about.

I despised George Bush with every ounce of my being. But never once, not once, did I wish for him to have a life-threatening illness. Not once.
Kharma. Boo effing hoo.
bceagle (07/31/2009, 1:07 PM )
The spelling there is "kharma," which I suppose if the evil and demented Republican counterpart to our own "buhdydharma."
Oh, and jackass, we're going to get a health care reform bill passed. Boo fucking hoo.
I guess he opted for the surgery now before he is included in the Too Old Category under the Obama health care mess - Oh that's right, he has a different plan. May be he should lead by example and just take the pain pills and then the counselling on how to die with dignity. What a bunch of cr..

Since Dodd is 65 he should get end of life counseling and an aspirin for any pain.If it's good enough for the proletariate it's good enough for the oligarchs.

Better hope that he can get this cleared up quickly. After he is voted out of office and booted into the new Soviet style healthcare plan good ol Chris Dodd's treatment will consist of "end of life" couselling and home care. Be careful what you wish for!

It sort of stuns the consciousness at how fast this kind of nonsense ripples through the Wingnut community. I really thought I'd seen everything from these nutjobs, but this end-of-life thing... I mean, wow.
The sad, but very true thing about this is-- when Dodds goes, the US would be a better place. Dodds, Franks and Cox. The 3 guys who destroyed our country single handedly. By the way, that's 2-dems and 1-rep for you political types.
ByteRider (07/31/2009, 1:18 PM )
Yeah. Those three guys. That's what did it. They did, after all, have all-encompassing power and authority over the past eight years.
Terrible news. But don't worry Mr. Dodd, the new healthcare program will have a government representive to discuss possible treatment options for you. Look, your 65 years old, we're trying to keep the new system balanced, we are going to recommend a pain pill to help you get along. That's what you and all your other democratic buddies have as your healthcare. Just like you want to stick up our tails. P.S. Stay close to a toilet.

Right. Well.
As many of you know, I'm a physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. For me, the current health care debate comes down to one and only one thing: maybe once, just this once, as Americans... maybe we can extend a helping hand to those in need, to those that are a little down on their luck.
And the heartbreaking part of all of this to me is that many of my fellow are absolutely hell-bent on denying that helping hand to those in need - and doing so in the most vile, disgusting terms possible.
Get well, Senator Dodd. We're all pulling for you over here.
