At least with the birthers, you know their angle in their demented attempts to attack the legitimacy of President Barack Obama. But, what Bart Sibrel gets out of promoting the Moon Hoax conpiracy theory is a subject too mystifying to even speculate. Not even Michael Shermer's Why People Believe Weird Things can adequately explain this guy. As anyone would expect, Mr. Sibrel was very busy this month on the anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the Moon. Busy...as in having to go to court on a vandalism charge for jumping on the hood of a woman's car while she was in it. Yes, it seems Bart has something of a temper problem. Shock!
Many of you probably remember Bart from that video of Buzz Aldrin punching the guy out after Bart repeatedly yelled at Buzz for being a coward and fraud back in 2002. Aldrin was 72 at the time.
Hopefully none of you have subjected yourselves to the two miserable Moon Hoax "documentaries" he produced that were widely debunked and discredited. No I won't even name them or provide links. If you want to see them, google Bart Sibrel and you will find them easily enough. Bart of course went after the debunkers like Phil Plait, author of Bad Astronomy and host of the Bad Astronomy website.
Then comes this story from a local Tennessee new station which Phil Plait posted today. So now Bart is a vandal and soon to be convicted one. Apparently after pulling into a parking lot and having to wait on another driver to vacate her spot, Bart got out of his car and yelled at her to leave. When she refused, he jumped up and down onto the top of the hood of her car causing over $1400 worth of damage. And as expected, Bart was arrested and hauled off to jail. But the biggest shock of all? Bart is a taxi cab driver. Nooooooo!
