As a person who was born in East Africa, and lived in Kenya 5yrs+, I have taken a look at the certificate, and it seems to be genuine... I will address all the issues raised in other diaries, one by one...
- I raised this issue myself: Why an official document from Kenya would not include Swahili, the official language of Kenya since the majority of Kenyans don't even speak or understand English?
Answer: The certificate was made in 1962 or earlier. The Swahili text on it faded through the years. English though, as a stronger language survived. Besides, since the person who created this certificate then had all interest of proving Barack Obama was not born in the united states, the English ink used was twice the strength the swahili one.
- Ok, how about the fancy fonts. How about the curly brackets, aren't those Microsoft Word processors? Did the Kenyan type writers do that?
Computers were invented in Kenya. When Bill Gates was on his first Safari, he paid the Kenyan inventor who swore to him that he will never admit it was his invention.
- Kenya never became a Republic until 1964. How do you explain that?
There was too much chaos after the independence. They were still fighting the British and other rebellions. However, Africans are known to be very detail oriented. Ask where the Germans learned about it? It's because they colonized East Africa and learned how to be detail oriented. Despite difficulties choosing a president, naming the republic, fending off the persistent British Tyranny, yes, they had enough time to do a census of all people born in other territories including Mombasa and issuing birth certificates to all born 2 yrs before Kenya ever obtained independence. And you thought Africans were not detail oriented??? They had no gvt at the time, and gosh they stayed on course.
- The hospital is Coast Provincial General Hospital (sometimes said to be Coast Province General Hospital), not Coast General Hospital.
Africans at the time didn't give a damn about those little details... Next question...
- Fifth, the number 47O44-- 47 is Obama's age when he became president, followed by the letter O (not a zero) followed by 44--he is the 44th president. EF Lavender is a laundry detergent.
Please stop those conspiracy theories... I thought CT were not allowed on this site.
- Would a nation with a large number of Muslims actually say "Christian name" (as opposed to name) on the birth certificate?
Hum... Hussein is actually a Christian name...
- This piece of paper certainly looks nice and new to be 45 years old -- unless the Kenyans were using acid-free paper back in 1964. Heh, heh.
This certificate was shipped to Orly Taitz when she proceeded to conserve it under the Musee de Louvre in Paris. Professor Longdon was the only one who came close to finding it, but he missed the right spot. An albino removed it, and buried it in a British tomb for 4 yrs. It was kept there safe for all these years.
