Howard Dean was on NPR today straight talking health care reform.
He is one of the few Democrats who can speak with confidence and clarity on a subject that he understands from the inside out. He can teach the complexities of a broken system and why
the fear of change is unfounded and often irrational.
It is a shame that he is not the spokesperson for the Obama administration. His presentation is so forthright
and competent.. He can answer questions without spin or political posturing. It is so great to listen to someone
who knows the subject, has practiced medicine in a broken system and who has first hand experience reforming it.
There should be a series of national debates between both sides of health care reform. I would hold Howard Dean against any Republican who opposes change and fear mongers against the public option.
Today it was easy to remember why there were Deaniacs who believed that Howard Dean could end the war in Iraq and could change and reform the heath care system. There is something to be said for authentic,
passionate communication. I still believe.
