Reposted because tonight is the night. Richardson Civic Center at 7:00 PM, come a bit early to get the best seats. And remember, you don't even have to be from the 32nd district, because Pete thinks that town hall meetings should be stacked with people from outside the district.
Tonight, Pete Sessions, the chairman of the National Republican Campaign Committee, will finally show his slimy face in his home district. I plan to be there in the front row if possible to review how poorly he has served his district and embarrass him in front of what will probably be a friendly crowd. Anyone in the 32nd district (and outside it as well, according to Pete Sessions) is welcome to come join the fun, even though Pete will not learn a damn thing I am sure.
The meeting will be here from 7:00pm – 8:30pm:
Richardson Civic Center/City Hall - Grand Hall
411 W. Arapaho Road
Richardson, TX 75080
Let's review some of his douchebaggery. Here's some of Petey's BS on the Health care bill:
(emphasis mine)
July 14, 2009
Sessions Statement on Democrats’ Health Care Tax Bill
..."Today, House Democrats released their prescription for Americans’ health care: a government takeover resulting in higher costs, more taxes, fewer choices, and intervention in the patient-doctor relationship.
"...the Majority has produced a job-killing, government-mandated health care plan financed on the backs of every American family, senior citizen, small business and employer... an additional 4.7 million Americans could lose their jobs.
"More than 100 million Americans will lose their current private health insurance under a government-run health care system...
..."My Republican colleagues and I are committed to a common-sense, bipartisan solution to our nation’s current health care problems..."
Where oh where to begin?
How about with Frank Luntz's secret memo to the GOP. Luntz says
"You simply MUST be vocally and passionately on the side of REFORM... The status quo is no longer acceptable... you must establish your support of reform early in your presentation."
Petey says:
"I call on Democrats in Congress to work with Republicans in promoting real reform that provides every American access to affordable, patient-centered, and quality health care of their choice."
LOL. Work with Republicans in promoting real reform? What a joke! This is the party that had their chance and did NOTHING except make things worse. For good reason, only 34% of Americans trust Congressional Republicans on health care. Of course Petey himself is leading an anti-reform blitz. Republicans are trusted even less than the insurance giants. And of course it doesn't help when prominent Republicans go around saying that they want to kill health care reform, which of course the overwhelming majority of Americans want passed, just to "take Obama down".
And if I get a chance I'll be sure to mention this:
Rep. Pete Sessions — the chief of the Republicans’ campaign arm in the House — says on his website that earmarks have become "a symbol of a broken Washington to the American people."
Yet in 2008, Sessions himself steered a $1.6 million earmark for dirigible research to an Illinois company whose president acknowledges having no experience in government contracting, let alone in building blimps.
What the company did have: the help of Adrian Plesha, a former Sessions aide with a criminal record who has made more than $446,000 lobbying on its behalf.
Note that the company wasn't in the Dallas area, but Petey tried to pull a fast one by filing the earmark with a bogus address:
Sessions used a Dallas address for the company when he submitted his earmark request to the House Appropriations Committee last year, one of the two men who control the company says that address is merely the home of one of his close friends.
Something tells me that the people of the 32nd district won't like that one bit, even if they're Republicans. And of course there's the strip club Petey went begging at. Good old family values Pete. Raising money at a strip club.
Said Sessions:
"...there's a woman who comes out and has a dress on... Uh, she never gets naked. There's no nudity, there's no nudity in there."
Naw. None whatsoever. Just look at those wholesome ladies at Forty Deuce, all covered up.
Be there or be square, and bring some friends even if they're from out of town...
Patients United, a front group maintained by Americans for Prosperity, is currently busing people all over the country for more protests against Democratic members. Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the NRCC, has endorsed the strategy, telling the Politico the days of civil town halls are now "over."
From the horse's ass himself:
"The days of you having a town hall meeting where maybe 15 or 20 of your friends show up — they’re over. You’ve now got real people who are showing up — and that’s going to be a factor."
So I guess he won't mind some "real people" yelling at him and chasing his slimy carcass from city hall? Just kidding. The progressives will make him wish we acted like that.
