I called my Mom today and she brought up the town hall meeting scheduled tomorrow in Brighton for Rep Perlmutter.  She had gone to the county fair yesterday and ran into the Adams County Democratic Party Leader.  He was encouraging her to go and show her support.  She asked him for the specifics and he said he was supposed to be there at 10 even though it does not start until 1pm.  When she asked him if he was worried about all of the protesters, he said that Perlmutter was prepared.

First, let me say that my mom is 5'2" and 77 years old.  She has white hair and is kind of a fireball when she is riled.

The conversation continued.

I asked her, "so do you want to go?"
She said,

"I will probably get into a fist fight with those people."

I had to laugh though I was a little shocked she actually said that.  I told her I was planning on going and I could pick her up.  I went on to describe that I was not planning on engaging any of the protesters, only holding a sign showing my support of Health Care Reform.  Then she said again with a laugh,

"I will probably get into a fist fight."

I said,

"I will hold you back."

We were silent for a minute, and then we both started giggling as we visualized my diminutive mother struggling towards some whacko as I held her back.

She has little patience for ignorance and willful stupidity, never has, never will.

You go MOM!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
