I've been sick for the past few days with a virus. I was able to turn on Hardball tonight and much to my surprise Lawrence was filling in which is a treat for me. He gets down to business every time I see him on TV. I hope he gets his own show.
VIEW VIDEO HERE because I don't know how to insert. Thanks to Harlock415
He interviewed the girl from a town hall. It was a very good interview. It really showed the differences of those on the other side of the isle. First, she wouldn't say she was on the other side, but let it slip when she talked about having a conversation with a liberal friend.
Lawrence asked her what awakened her into politics recently when we went through 9/11 and 2 wars the past few years. Her answer:
"war is common - we always have it - it's been around forever.
I was into myself, having children taking care of my family the past few years. I didn't think about politics until now."
You know, I wish Lawrence would have jumped in and asked how come it's ok to pay for war and it's not ok to pay for health care?
Why does no one bring this up?
Because "War is Common Place"
It actually makes me sick to think it's ok to go around the world killing whomever you want in these damn wars but it's not ok to let people go to a doctor without it $costing$ and arm and leg. Not having some regulations from keeping the insurance companies screwing us for profit.
We can pay for the damn war but we can't pay for all of us to go to the doctors.
I thought I was sick before - this is soul killing to know that war is common place.
Lawrence also asked her how much her family made because only families that make more than 250k will see their taxes increase. She squirmed around and knew the answer but didn't want to answer saying her husband took care of the finances.
I want to hear more people talking about how it's OK to spend all this money on war but not to keep our citizens healthy. How messed up is that thinking?
We have money for war but not for visits to the doctor.
