I am not sure how long it will be left on the site, but since right wingers are rushing to the Whole Foods site to express their support for Mackey, I thought I would express my belief in his wisdom.
After all, I am as patriotic as the next person. The following is my response; feel free to add your comments about how Whole Foods has supplanted your need for professional medical care.

All you need to cure every ailment in your life is to shop at Whole Foods and make healthy choices. If everyone ate healthy, nobody would ever have asthma, get Alzheimer's, suffer from broken bones, get injured in car or home accidents, fall while bicycling, contract pneumonia, suffer from any genetic disease, or anything that would require health care, like type 1 diabets.
I know that whenever I get a broken bone, I put arugula on it, and it goes away pretty quickly. I have found the best thing for cuts is--do not laugh--grain-fed organically raised beef. When my brother-in-law came down with pneumonia after getting chicken pox, I scolded my sister for not shopping at Whole Foods. Instead of taking him to the hospital so he could be supplied with oxygen to breathe, I suggested buying some of their natural spring water; everyone knows that water contains oxygen.
Unfortunately, when my husband was laid off, we could no longer afford Whole Foods' high prices and our health has sadly taken a turn for the worse. The lettuce at Stop and Shop just does not seem to have the same healing properties; when my son broke his leg and we wrapped it in iceberg, it healed one inch shorter than the other and now he has a permanent limp.
Instead of healthcare policies, they should pass a bill that offers Whole Foods subsidies and sets up a National Whole Foods system so that those who do not live near a Whole Foods (and have no access to arugula) can have it flown to them in an emergency.
Way to go Mr. Mackey! As soon as my husband gets a job and as long as this eye infection does not leave me permanently blind because I have no organic brown rice to make a poultice for it, I will be back to shopping at Whole Foods again!
Who needs health care when you have organics??? Give me arugula or give me death.
