CNN is reporting that White House/Congressional Democrats are planning on going it alone on health care reform!   According to CNN, the White House and the Democratic Congress have been discussing this privately for awhile and decided that enough is enough.

This is going to be one HELL of a fight.  We are going to NEED every DAMN Democrat/progressive in this fight folks.

Ready your battle stations!

UPDATE: (I wonder if Bill Clinton had something to do with this.  Obama had spent time with Bill Clinton in the Situation Room just on North Korea.  Then after that he had Bill Clinton meet him in the Oval Room.  I wonder if Bill Clinton basically told Obama that it is now or NEVER.  You have 60 Democratic Senators and you are going to have to ram this through).

Dems considering pushing through health care reform without GOP support.

Both the White House and the Democrats in the Congress are deciding to go this alone.

This has been decided because of comments from Senator Kyle and Senator Grassley made it VERY CLEAR that Republicans really didn't want to participate with Democrats in crafting a health care reform bill.

According to CNN, one of the reasons why the Obama administration said what they said about the public option being "optional" this weekend was to see if they could get some of the moderate GOP and moderate Democrats on board.  But apparently according to CNN, the GOP made it clear today to White House and the Democrats that they weren't going to participate in Health care reform.

The White House/Democrats will decide to pull the trigger in mid-September.

Remember September 15th is the date.

This is the BEST news I have heard ALL DAY.  Expect Obama to talk more about this on Thursday when he talks to supports through "Obama for America".

I want to see lines in the sand and a damn PLAN.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
