President Obama is under attack . . . has been since before inauguration day.
Many of the lies that have been told about him and his policies have been accepted as truth by a large portion of the population, and are repeated daily as truth by the media.
In the face of this attack, now many of the President's "supporters" have decided that they too are unhappy with the President.
As the President calmly, rationally, and methodically tries to work through the multiple problems that were left to him AND implement the many new policies he was elected to enact(problems that have been glossed over and poll tested for DECADES), he is discovering that many of his "supporters" are questioning his integrity and intentions and may need to see his real birth certificate after all.
Yes, this newly disgruntled Obama supporter can only back the President when he is successful or does as he is told.
Any deviation from what they feel is appropriate will result in outrage, public reprimand, and accusations of sold-outedness.
My point is simple:
How can you debunk a lie about the President out of one side of your mouth: "There are no death panels!" and imply that this same President is a lying, deal making scum bag in league with the insurance companies out of the other side of your mouth?
Yes, you have a right to criticize the President.
Yes, we have to let the President know that what we will and will not accept from him.
But here's the thing:
The President has a pitbull on each leg, a tiger on his back, and an armed militia waiting for him at each stop.
Michelle Obama selected the wrong pants, and Joe Biden just called Russia a punk-a$$ b!tch.
And then we, his supporters, come along and say . . . "But I thought you said you were going to have universal healthcare?"
There is a time and a place for everything folks.
If the tiger rips the President's spine out - we won't get the public option or anything else.
Stop.
Breathe.
You create a diversion for the tiger, I'll beat it over the head with a stick.
And can somebody do something about those pitbulls?
If we survive the battle, then maybe we can LOOK BACK and discuss the mistakes we all made.
However, the battlefield is not the place to fight each other . . . at least if we want to win.
