It seems former Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman has been busy lining up a new job for himself.
This from the Minneapolis StarTribune:
Former Sen. Norm Coleman will soon lead a new think tank devoted to the goals of the Republican Party, according to another former senator, Dave Durenberger.
Durenberger, who left the Senate in 1995, posted a commentary on his National Institute of Health Policy website Wednesday explaining that Coleman will become president of a future nonprofit called "America's Action Network."
The organization "is designed to give definition to a principled 'role of government approach to the Republican Party's future," Durenberger wrote. "In the process, its founders hope to leave some of the 'other issues' like those which firmed 'the base' in the social values arena behind."
Durenberger wrote that the organization was being funded by "Texas money."
Hmmmm...funded by Texas money. The same ones who were paying Norm's legal bills through the Senate recount, election contest, and the appeal?
But he didn't stop there. No sir! The day before it was announced that Normie was also to serve as a fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics. According to the StarTribune site:
The Harvard Institute of Politics said Thursday that Coleman will serve as a visiting fellow for its fall 2009 semester. The announcement is the first indication of Coleman's plans after narrowly losing his Senate seat to Democrat Al Franken.
Visiting fellows meet with student groups at Harvard, lead discussions on issues and share their experiences with students. They also participate in public policy classes.
I shudder to think of this slimeball teaching the next generation of political activists his trademark "NormSpeak." Not to mention they should send out a warning to ALL female students to be on the lookout for him. Who can forget Norm Coleman And His Own Personal Pervgate Scandal.
Personally, I think most of us here figured he'd receive some plum job within the GOP after purposefully delaying Al Franken from being seated. He's upside down on his home mortgage with kids in college. Plus he has to pay to keep his lovely wife Laurie living the life she so chooses (formerly in LA pursuing her acting career). A guy's gotta make a living even if it's to sit day after day in court while 'working' as a lobbyist for a Conservative Jewish group.
Farewell, Normie! Be careful with those Harvard co-eds! Now that you're ex-Senator don't think that will automatically provide you the same protection from scrutiny as the local media in Minnesota afforded you!
