The loser of the 2008 Presidential Election, Senator John McCain, demanded President Obama, the man who vanquished him at the polls last November, drop the Public Option from any health care reform efforts during an interview ABC's "This Week".
Arizona's senior Senator, who proved beyond a shadow of a doubt last year that he could not even manage his own campaign for President, resorting time and again to made-for-media gimmicks in order to try and recapture momentum, apparently thinks his nationally recognized incompetence qualifies him to weigh in on the single biggest domestic issue that has faced our government in over a generation.
The man who thought it was a good idea for Sarah Palin to be a 72-year-old heartbeat away from the Presidency of the United States is now, with a straight face, trying to instruct The White House how to run its health care reform efforts.
According to the Associated Press, McCain says Americans are losing confidence in the Obama's plans for health care reform partially over concerns about the public option. Seeing as 77% of Americans agree it is a good idea to have the choice of a public option on health care exchanges it seems that McCain's shortcomings as a Presidential candidate are only surpassed by his cluelessness about the will of the people on this vital issue.
Don't go away mad, John McCain. Just go away.
