So...
I think we all understand voting with our dollars and such right? Well According Joel Mathis, aka Cup O' Joel, hahahah, at the Philadelphia Weekly, we should shut up and take it. No, really. We should all just accept that maybe a company and it's C.E.O. should never be taken to task. Sit back, folks! Enjoy it. Why are you so stupid that you would be offended by Mackey? Cup o' Joel not only has no need for f's but he has no need for activism!
The good news? Well good "o'" has an email! Let's make him use it, shall we?
jmathis@philadelphiaweekly.com
He calls anyone who wishes to use our dollars elsewhere stupid. Get that? Those of us who choose to spend our dollars anywhere but Whole Foods are....are....STUUpid!
I know free weeklies don't pay much but, my god, I hope this was a freebie by O'. Really. What a lazy human. He can't even comprehend what is happening. He even mentions teh Kos! He does so to try to paint boycotters as silly.
After mentioning teh Kos and a commenter on the PW site, libhomo, who stated that he/she will no longer shop there as long as Mackey is involved, O' states:
Please.
"Please?!" What? Wow. I hope big O' has more to say than that.
Please. For weeks now, liberals have been complaining about the distortions and vicious behavior from the right. So an opponent of President Obama’s reform proposals comes along and
offers a thoughtful-but-probably-mistaken-
contrary opinion and we’re going to punish him for that? If that’s the case, why shouldn’t conservatives like Arlen Specter’s accuser in Lebanon scream and throw tantrums? A boycott would probably be counterproductive.
"thoughtful"? What? "contrary"? "opinion"?
O'! Hey, over here buddy! Number 2 and 3 may be correct but thoughtful is beyond reality. You have lost us here. "Thoughtful"?! It is a term that you, apparently, don't have a clear understanding of:
But boycotting Whole Foods is a futile and impotent act that does nothing to get health reform passed. (Indeed, news of the boycott has sparked vows from conservatives that they’ll now go out of their way to shop at the store.) It won’t hurt Mackey; he’s set for life. His employees—including those at two stores in Philadelphia—are the ones who stand to suffer.
Wow. You have produced an amazingly bad paragraph here. Let's get it on O'!!!
1.Spending my dollars anywhere but Whole Foods is not Futile. Nor is it impotent. What world did you grow up in?! I guess voting is "futile and impotent" because the candidates will be fine either way. Stupid
2.The "would someone pleeeeeese think of the employees" argument is just beyond "futile and impotent" that it makes me giggle! Hey O', what about the "employeeees" of the other businesses that I am now spending my money at? Hmmmm?
3.Right. For reals. Conservatives are now going to buy anything, over and over again, from Whole Foods? O', you are now making an assumption. And you know what that does right? It makes an ass out of Uma Thurman! I could only wish that the wingnuts would! Maybe I would not have to pay so much for their healthcare!
Like any writer, O' decides to end on a....note.
Liberals like to think the angry nutcases are all on the other side of the aisle. But punishing people who disagree with you isn’t a liberal value. And neither is going without high-quality organic produce. It’s time to call off the boycott.
Wow. Yeah Joel, we on the Left are just so damned bitter. We are so bitter that when a C.E.O. decides that he would rather put his personal feelings above his companies bottom line, we make sure that he reaps what he sows. We take FACTS into account. I know. Facts are so damned stupid. Damn us "angry" "nutcases" for that!!!
BTW O', we can get organic produce elsewhere and it is time for all of us "angry" and "nutcase" "liberals" to now take a stand. Here is a good starting point. I'll allow Whole Foods decide if it needs to go any further.
