Dear Kosters in CA-42,
Tonight's the night when corrupt developer, Deather, and U.S. Representative "Dirty" Gary Miller comes to the Nixon Library at 7 p.m. tonight to try to power himself off of the emanations of the former Congressman from Yorba Linda while baffling, bamboozling, and befuddling his constituents during a "Health Care Listening Session" in the East Room.
Some of us -- ideally many of us -- will be there. You need tickets to get in. We have plenty of tickets. You supposedly need to be a constituent to enter. We need more constituents.
Come join us. We'll try to be there by 6:30 or so.
If you don't know your fellow Democrats in CA-42, this is a great time to meet them. We expect that the wingnuts, from as far away as Whittier, Chino Hills, and Rancho Santa Margarita will be converging on Yorba Linda in force. Some of them, it must be noted, may be armed. We don't encourage any of our side to be -- but if you're a Second Amendment advocate you can being a "Guns Don't Kill People, Health Insurers Kill People" sign, which will slay people in a less illegal sense.
Koster Ron Shepston, known around these parts as CanYouBeAngryAndStillDream, who is testing the waters for another run against Miller, will be out there. So will various leaders from throughout the district. We will be taking pictures, honing our questions, and generally having a good old time here in the county with the largest number of Republicans in the nation.
We will, most likely, be outnumbered tonight -- Miller has surely made sure to send out the tickets to the people he wants to "listen" to -- but that means that every person who shows up makes that much more of an essential contribution to representing our cause, to not letting the other side say that our district is against a humane and rational health care system.
If you can make it, we've got plenty of tickets for you. Just RSVP below in a comment. I won't be online during the day, but this diary will be monitored just in case too many people say they'll come out. (We'll solve that problem if and when it occurs, though.)
Read my diary from yesterday for more; see y'all, with your most creative signs, tonight!
