So, President Obama is on vacation, and I don't plan on posting any photos that are leaked (sometimes, they really do deserves some privacy), but I ran into a cute article on Politico about President Obama's Pet Peeves, and thought it would be a fun non-health care related diary to have some fun with.
The first pet peeve listed wasn't a big surprise to me, I think if I were him I'd be pretty pissed about it too:
Never put something on the calendar that interferes with his duties as First Dad.
Now that should be a no-brainer!
As the list goes on we also see:
1.
when "folks try to get him to wear baseball gear for teams other than the White Sox."
- Missing his daily work-out (which kind of makes me feel bad because I haven't done my daily workout today because I didn't feel like it when I woke up, I suppose I could be doing it now. . . LOL)
3.
He also doesn’t appreciate the seemingly endless click-click-click of the cameras when photographers take photos of him.
I can see how that gets annoying. In the digital age, don't they have high powered cameras that don't constantly make that clicking noise? I remember watching something once where he was talking and there were a lot of pictures being taken and it was annoying the hell out of me, imagine having to deal with that every day?
4.
Obama also confessed recently that one of his biggest pet peeves is what he calls "the shine police" — aides and makeup artists who powder his face before he does television. "You notice that even before this interview, they constantly want to powder my nose and forehead and it's never enough — that I find quite irritating," Obama told The Associated Press.
HA! One of MY pet peeves is when I'm actually wearing make-up (I don't wear it much) and my face ends up looking all shiney. I think I'd like my own "shine police", but then, I am a woman. . .
5.
As a workplace, the White House can generate small annoyances for the 44th president, such as events that are overstaffed and overplanned.
Sometimes, you just gotta wing it people! Oh, and I thought the part about him rebelling when they tell him how many questions can be asked was a bit assholish, but I like it! Sounds like something I would have done just to be a jerk. LOL
6.
Axelrod said Obama bristles when "people talk too much at meetings and prevent others from speaking."
I bet as a law professor he hated the "know-it-alls" (then again, who doesn't?)
7.
his best-known dislike: drama. "He hates it," a senior aide said. "If you come to him with a problem, you had better tried to figure out 100 ways to solve the problem.
Yep, again sounds like something I've heard in law school. Don't go to the professor with a question you haven't at least tried to figure out yourself. . . 100 ways seems a bit excessive though. LOL
8.
Even more than he dislikes drama, though, Obama "hates being late," one senior aide said. (Lately, more times than not, he arrives ahead of schedule.) "His biggest thing is he hates inconveniencing people," the aide said. "He wants meetings to start on time and wants to have enough time to meet with people, and so we try to build in some extra time. He hates being rushed, and he hates shortchanging someone. He’s always very conscious about running on time. That’s a big deal to him. "
I hate being late to stuff too, both because it's an inconvenience to people, and because I'm kind of nosey, I want to know what's going on! In my Sorority we have a saying (that I'm sure is not exclusive to us): "To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late." Actually, now that I think about it, I remember hearing that in high school too. . .
9.
Obama might have a new pet peeve to add to his list, Axelrod quipped: "When aides share his pet peeves with reporters."
LOL, well it's nice to be reminded he's human.

While I do share a lot of pet peeves with President Obama, I think my biggest pet peeve is when people eat while they are talking to me on the phone. That is like the most annoying thing ever because the chewing sound all up in your ear and people can't eat and talk at the same time. I'll even get off of the phone with my Grandma (my favorite person in the world) if I can hear her eating. . .
I'm also not a big fan of repeating myself more than once.
I hate when my dad cooks food at like midnight when I'm trying to sleep. Who eats that late?
I don't really care for people being sanctimonious.
I don't like when people borrow a paperback book of mine, and bend the spine. My mom said she doesn't understand how I read a book without bending the spine, but it's completely possible.
It really bugs me when people stand in front of doors and smoke, or sit under the covered bus stop and smoke. I think it's quite rude, especially if I was sitting there first and you just light up without asking me if it would bother me.
And I'll stop with this one. . . It bugs me if I'm standing at the bus stop, I clearly have my iPod in my ears and a book in my hands, and someone tries to talk to me for longer than 30 seconds. The entire purpose of me having the iPod and the book is so people won't talk to me (LOL, and to amuse myself on the ride/block out typical bus sounds).
So anyway, what are some of your pet peeves? Let's try to keep it light
