I was thinking today about Ted Kennedy, as most of have, and a thought occured to me as I heard about Kennedy's monumental achievements in healthcare legislation: Today's leaders in the Democratic Party just plain lack ambition.
For all too long, to be an ambitious Democrat was to be a Republican target. That's still true; just look at Obama, on nearly every level of his policy. They spread the lies and make the noise because there is nothing so offensive to Republicans as a Democrat who has not had his or her ambitions pounded firmly back into submission.
So here's my suggestion, today: if you have Democratic Senator or Represenative out there, ask them: where's your ambition? Do you really have it? Or do you merely take up space, doing your best to keep someone else out of it?
