This morning, before the sun rose, I suddenly awoke with a dreadful thought.
Today, reading a hateful comment that insinuated something dreadful in a well written diary, that thought was brought back into my mind.
It is my belief that there is another motive behind the tea bag and healthcare forum protesters.

The thought I had was of the movie we watched in elementary school on the life of Martin Luther King Jr.
Being in elementary school, I did not know the movie was going to end with the death of Dr. King, being young and all.
(Spielberg may revisit this subject.)
However, I do remember the movie ending with a crazed white guy throwing popcorn at his television and mumbling about killing Dr. King. The guy it turns out was James Earl Ray, and in my 5th grade mind, the guy they portrayed was exactly the kind of person who would shoot Dr. King. Deranged and angry (and throwing popcorn at the TV). It was only much, much later, while watching Oliver Stone's JFK, that I even thought of questioning the outcomes of that event - and I only saw that movie because I liked Kevin Costner in Dancing with Wolves. (and this movie even the more so
(looks like this is a safe subject to discuss)
There are disputes now about his actual involvement in the event itself, even prompting the NAACP to send people to meet with Ray in prison and to obtain documents about his trial.
My point of this is, what I have had stray into my consciousness, and into many of yours, I would suspect, is that these crazies at these town halls are going to do something, something bad.
Where I live, in Denver, there has been an attack on State Dem HQ, but not from whom you would think.
And this is where, we as a community, should draw the line. Reprinting the vile statements from hate groups that openly threaten the President either directly or indirectly is not a good idea.
I know Markos does publish his Hate Mail to give us a laugh, but this is different.
I do not want the mindset and narrative of this country to move towards a direction of that manner. Mostly, because #1 I think the President has the best protection and #2 I don't want the moneyed interests who are going to lose millions and billions to us little guys by the pending Healthcare and Climate Change Reforms, to think they can do something and have us believe it was some wingnut.
Sheesh, I feel gross just typing that last statement.
But this movement is not just about Barack Obama, it is about all of us. We the People saw what the moneyed interests wanted to do to our country during the Bush years, and We the People got motivated, organized, and got progressives elected everywhere, locally and nationally. (man does my accent get thick when I get back in NC)
We the People have wanted and needed the Change that the President represents, and I don't want the money interests to thing we will be fooled by any wingnut comments.
So let's stop reprinting the Hate and focus on our jobs as Progressives.
That goes for you as well Markos, since you just put this up while I was writing this diary.
And I need to get back to writing.
