The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, trying to ward off potentially sweeping federal emissions regulations, is pushing the Environmental Protection Agency to hold a rare public hearing on the scientific evidence for man-made climate change.
U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks trial on global warming
In other words, the Chamber of Commerce wants a forum to bring in the Town Hall Teabagger shouty types. Who knows, the Teabaggers might bring guns! Yeeha!
This was covered in several blogs... But who would come out to play on the Chamber of Commerce blog? I wonder. Well, wonder no more, dear DKers! NASA, we have Corporations!

Richard S Courtney... Now where have I heard that name before? Oh! I know! He's a coal industry lobbyist! How nice.
Richard writes, "Atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration and global temperature do NOT correlate."
But of course one does not want to punch the industry you work for in the nose, do you Richard? It was very naughty of you not to mention your corporate affiliation, dear Richard.

Jeff Glassman... Wow, We have the heavy hitters here on our little conversation, don't we?
Jeff Glassman. http://www.rocketscientistsjournal.com/ (FATAL ERRORS IN IPCC’S GLOBAL CLIMATE MODELS)
Barry Cooper! Barry Cooper writes, "Consider that the current period of cooling is happening in a condition of steadily increasing CO2 emissions. Al Gore warned ten years ago that if we did nothing then, all hell would break loose. We didn't, and it didn't. If, of course, we had listened to him, our economy would be much smaller, and he would be attributing the current cooling to his genius."
Barry thinks we are in global COOLING mode.
Barry, how are the Friends of Science doing?

Yesterday I had a conversation with a friend. He told me, "There's no point in arguing with these people; you'll shorten your own lifespan, and it won't make a dent in their convictions. Go watch TV." However, I think that many of these people, the ones with corporate links, are in this for money more than idealism. I don't think they are nutjobs, I think they are corporate tools.
Much as I would enjoy relaxing and not having to fight this over and over, we can't just keep quiet. If we do, the only voices will be those of the lobbyists, and they won't shut up. They make money by being as loud and influential as possible. We can't match their influence one on one, but we can put a dent in it.
Fight! The SFAs are depending on us to save them.
I thought you would find this interesting, thank you. Time for dinner. Pizza!
