Here is an updated list of current US Attorneys for the Obama Administration. It details those that have been replaced, those that haven't, those that are pending nomination and those that haven't been moved on.
US ATTORNEY UPDATED LIST
It's not really much of a diary but to give folks who are wondering why they haven't been replaced, here is a chart which details it.
Here's a sampling. I know Gov. Siegelman has been angry as of late due to the Prosecutors not to his liking (perhaps to Rove's) but I suppose Obama wanted to avoid a controversy such as that that stemmed when Bill Clinton Wholesale dismissed all of the attorneys at one time.
Here's Alabama's Middle District, the one in contention, and the current individual in place along with the expected replacement, and the reason why he's delayed.

So, in other words, the one set to replace Leuna Canary (Don Siegelman's Prosecutor) is Joe Van Heest. Here's the nom. bio:
Joseph Van Heest is a white-collar criminal attorney at the Law Office of Joseph P. Van Heest in Montgomery. He was a federal public defender before going into private practice. He was the number-two choice of Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.), whom Van Heest has known for more than 15 years. Davis's first choice, Michel Nicrosi, was eliminated by the White House. Nicrosi is a white-collar criminal attorney at Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère & Denègre in Mobile, Ala. She successfully defended Paul Hamrick, then-chief of staff to former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman (D), in 2006. Nicrosi served in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Alabama from 1995 to 2001, becoming the Chief of the Criminal Division in 1997. Rep. Davis is in charge of the judicial and U.S. Attorney recommendations because he is the state's senior congressional Democrat.
So basically, folks don't give out hope and don't pressure the DOJ, leave Justice the way it should be done, by the officials.
