I just noticed a new campaign ad that came out from the Christie people in the past few days.
I find it interesting how politicians often, in their campaign ads, accuse the other person of slinging mud; it seems ironic that they can accuse someone of doing so in an ad that slings mud right back at Corzine.
But perhaps the most striking thing about this ad is the people that claim to have voted for President Obama in the 2008 presidential election. Would a person that supported Obama really support someone like Chris Christie, a very conservative person? I don't think so. It's obvious who they are trying to go for here: the demographic that does like President Obama, but realistically, I don't think that will work. As I previously mentioned, I don't think that a person that supported Obama can support Christie. Chris Christie stands for everything that Obama doesn't, and given the fact that President Obama recently endorsed Corzine, I would imagine that much of the Obama supporters in this state would lean towards Corzine even if they are a bit dissatisfied with him. They realize that sometimes it may be simply a choice between the lesser of two evils, and certainly Corzine is the lesser evil than Chris Christie, especially given what has come out in the past few weeks about his own record.
In short, how can Christie expect that people that support Obama will support him?
