OK, we get that Kos needs ads.
After all, someone has to pay the bills.
And maybe Kos is trying to afford health care.
But it seems like most of the ads are specifically directed to be against many of the things I believe in.
From today's diaries, Kos knows that there are many Kossacks getting rate increases from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. But imagine my surprise when I'm reading a rant diary about Blue Cross, and across the top of the screen is a set of three ads for Blue Cross. Really? I'm going to read these diaries and go out to purposely give that company business?
And what type of cookie has been put on my PC, that I, a Kossack in Texas, gets an ad for Rick Perry.org on top of my screen? I am not a Repub nor a seccessionist. Yet Ads by Google knows enough about me, now, that they can tailor the ad to my state. That's pretty good being as I don't use Google for my search engine.
A diary titled A State of Limbo (about health care) has an ad for "Support the Republican Health Care Bill of Rights for Seniors". This is a Progressive site isn't it? Why would I be interested in supporting Michael Steele?
A young person wrote a diary about joining AmeriCorp and finding out their insurance is horrible. So that diary had an ad for a "Work at home" scheme. Perhaps then that diarist could buy a Blue Cross policy.
Stop the Swine Flu by giving workers in New York more sick days gets an ad for The Art Institute. Perhaps if you go to Art School you can avoid Swine Flu?
War in Afghanistan? Play Dogs of the Sea. After all, Pirates battling equates with real war, right? But will Pirates get VA insurance, or will they need a Public Option?
A diary about Personal Responsibility leads us to Lose 47 pounds while you Make $67 an hour online. A "twofer". Gee if we could all make $67 an hour while losing weight at home, would we need to fight so hard for health care reform?
But my personal favorite:
Write about John Edwards and you get an ad for Embassy Suites. That's right. Now we all know where to take our flings. The top of the Kos page told us so.
