So, I was at the Jersey shore earlier this day. It was cloudy, windy, and kinda chilly, but fairly enjoyable. The waves were too rough for swimming, but solace could be easily found in reading, walking, or doing nothing at all. I went for a walk on the surf, enjoying the brisk weather when wingnutism appeared...
(More below the fold.)
HERE?! I was supposed to be having a nice break and they dare to attempt to violate my peace?! Yes, I had to face teabaggery...from the sky.
Do you know those prop planes that pull along banners to advertise to the happy vacationers? Well, usually they advertise something innocuous like local restaurants or certain products or try to raise awareness for something. I was walking along when a plane-with-banner flew by. The red letters on white background of the banner caught my eye and I was dumbfounded to see it read: "OBAMACARE = NO CARE STOP THE MADNESS NOW CALL CONGRESS". I immediately became stirred up and grumbling about how the wingnut's libel is becoming so accepted amongst the "screaming minority."
Luckily, I soon relaxed again and focused back on being here at the beach. Still, I feel irked that our airplane advertisers are such a-holes. But maybe the fact that the opposition is so boisterous is a sign that they are afraid. They are the minority and they know it.
I can now relate to this guy:
